Copy is in the HTML, not only in JS
Found:
Render pages on the server or at build time (SSR or static) so the copy ships in the HTML. Most AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so a page built in the browser looks empty to them. Static site generators

FAQ
Questions about the AEO score, answered
What is AEO?
Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is making your site easy for AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews to find, read and cite. It builds on SEO: crawlable pages, clear structure and structured data, plus content written as direct answers to the questions buyers ask.
How is the AEO score calculated?
We run 20 checks in five groups: Crawlable (25 points), Readable (20), Structured (25), Trusted (15) and Citable (15). A pass earns a check’s full points, a partial pass half, a fail nothing. Under 50 is "Invisible to AI", 50 to 79 is "Partly visible" and 80 or more is "Ready to be cited".
Does a high score mean ChatGPT will cite my site?
No. The score measures whether AI crawlers can get in, read your content and understand it. Whether an engine cites you also depends on what you say, how well it answers the question and how much other sites trust you. A low score, though, means you are making citations harder than they need to be.
Why do you check the raw HTML and not the rendered page?
Most AI crawlers, including GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, fetch the HTML and do not run JavaScript. If your copy only appears after scripts run, those crawlers see an empty page. So we read exactly what they read.
Should I block AI crawlers in robots.txt?
Only if you don’t want to appear in AI answers. Blocking GPTBot or ClaudeBot keeps your content out of those models, and blocking OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot keeps you out of their search answers. Most SaaS companies want to be cited, so they allow them.
What do you do with my URL and email?
We fetch the public page, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap once, score them, show you the result and email the full report to the address you gave us. We only send you anything else if you tick the box for follow-ups, and you can unsubscribe any time.
