Slack integration
Slack incoming webhooks post a message to a channel from any app. We use them to send new leads, bookings and orders to your team: through Zapier or Make on Framer and Webflow, and with Slack’s official @slack/webhook package from an Astro or Next.js server route. Webflow’s own Slack app manages sites from Slack; it doesn’t post form submissions.

How we set up Slack
Framer
- Zapier or Make
Framer forms send raw JSON, not Slack’s message format, so we relay them: form webhook to Zapier or Make, then a Slack message with the fields laid out.
Webflow
- Zapier or Make
Zapier’s Webflow New Form Submission trigger with Slack’s Send Channel Message action, or a Webflow form_submission webhook handled by a small server function.
Astro
- API
@slack/webhook’s IncomingWebhook in an on-demand endpoint posts the message after the form is saved. The webhook URL is a server secret.
Next.js
- API
The same package in a Route Handler or server action, often next to the CRM call, so the team sees the lead and the CRM gets it in one step.

What to watch out for
Security
The webhook URL is a secret
Slack says the URL contains a secret and actively revokes leaked ones. It never goes in client code or a public repo.
Limits
One message per second
Incoming webhooks allow about one message per second with short bursts. Batch alerts if a form could get a spike.
Data layer
Mind what you post
Messages are visible to the whole channel. We post what the team needs to act on and link to the CRM for the rest.
FAQ
Questions about Slack
Does the Webflow Slack app post form submissions?
No. Webflow’s Slack app is for managing sites from Slack. For form alerts we use Zapier, Make or a webhook.
What if our Slack webhook URL leaks?
Slack searches for leaked webhook secrets and revokes them, so you create a new URL and update the server setting. Keeping it server-side avoids this.
Can we start a Slack workflow instead of a message?
Yes. The same @slack/webhook package can trigger Workflow Builder workflows, for example to assign a lead to someone.
