Make integration

Make builds visual automations, called scenarios, from app modules and custom webhooks. Its Webflow app watches site events and reads or writes CMS items, forms and orders. Framer forms reach Make through a webhook, and Astro or Next.js sites post to a Make webhook from a server route. We use Make when a flow needs branching, loops or volume.

Setup by platform

How we set up Make

  • Framer

    • Zapier or Make

There is no Make app for Framer. The form’s Webhook destination posts to a Make custom webhook. To push data into Framer CMS, a third-party plugin (Make CMS Sync) can receive it.

  • Webflow

    • Native
    • Zapier or Make

Make’s Webflow app connects with OAuth and offers a Watch Events trigger plus modules for CMS items, form submissions, orders, inventory and raw API calls.

  • Astro

    • API

An on-demand endpoint posts JSON to the Make webhook after validating the form. The URL stays in an astro:env server secret.

  • Next.js

    • API

A Route Handler posts to the Make webhook with the URL in a server-only variable, and returns a clean error if Make answers 429.

Use cases

What teams use it for

  1. Lead routing with rules

Enterprise leads to sales, small teams to nurture, all of them to the CRM, in one scenario.

  2. Sheets or Airtable to the CMS

Rows from a sheet or base become Webflow CMS items, updated when the source changes.

  3. Order operations

Webflow orders update inventory, create invoices and notify the team.

Before you add it

What to watch out for

  • Limits

    Webhook throughput

Make processes up to 300 webhook requests per 10 seconds and returns 429 above that. Incoming requests queue per webhook.

  • Limits

    Unused webhooks expire

A webhook not attached to a scenario for more than five days returns 410 Gone. We attach and test it before the form goes live.

  • Security

Keep the URL off the page

Make’s custom webhook URL is the only key. On coded sites the request comes from the server, never the browser.

Can Make write into Webflow CMS?

Yes. Make’s Webflow app has modules to create, update and publish CMS items.

Why did our Make webhook start returning 410?

Make deactivates webhooks that have not been connected to a scenario for more than five days. Reconnect it, or create a new one and update the form.

Does Make add a script to our site?

No. Make runs on its own servers after the form is submitted, so nothing extra loads for visitors.
