Vercel integration
Vercel is a hosting platform for frontend frameworks, made by the team behind Next.js. We deploy Next.js sites to Vercel with zero config and Astro sites with the official @astrojs/vercel adapter, with a preview URL for every change. Framer and Webflow host their own sites, so Vercel only applies to coded builds.

Setup by platform
How we set up Vercel
Framer
- Not supported
Framer hosts Framer sites. If part of your site is coded, we can run that part on Vercel and keep marketing pages in Framer on their own domain or subdomain.
Webflow
- Not supported
Webflow hosts Webflow sites, and Webflow Cloud runs coded apps alongside them. Vercel comes in when the whole site moves to code.
Astro
- Native
Static Astro sites deploy to Vercel without an adapter. We add @astrojs/vercel when the site needs on-demand rendering, ISR, image optimization or Vercel Web Analytics.
Next.js
- Native
Zero-config deploys with ISR, server functions, streaming, on-demand image optimization and protected Draft Mode for CMS previews. Vercel is a verified adapter on the Next.js Deployment Adapter API.
Use cases
What teams use it for
Next.js marketing sites
Fast pages with ISR, so CMS updates go live without a full rebuild.
Preview links for review
Every branch gets its own URL, so your team reviews real pages, not screenshots.
Cookieless traffic stats
Vercel Web Analytics for page views and referrers without third-party cookies.
Before you add it
What to watch out for
Consent and GDPR
Analytics without third-party cookies
Visitors are identified by a request hash discarded after 24 hours. Whether you still need a banner depends on your jurisdiction; ask your legal team.
Security
Protect previews
Preview deployments can expose unreleased pages. We keep Draft Mode behind Vercel team authentication and protect previews when the content is sensitive.
Limits
Know where costs come from
Functions, image optimization and bandwidth are metered. A mostly static site keeps usage, and the bill, low.
FAQ
Questions about Vercel
Do we need an adapter to put a static Astro site on Vercel?
No. The @astrojs/vercel adapter is only needed for on-demand rendering or Vercel-specific features like ISR, image optimization and Web Analytics.
Can a Framer or Webflow site run on Vercel?
No, Framer and Webflow host their own sites. A common setup is the marketing site on Framer or Webflow and the app or docs on a subdomain hosted on Vercel.
Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare?
All three run Astro well. For Next.js, Vercel supports every feature first; Netlify and Cloudflare run Next.js through adapters with a few documented limits. We choose based on your features, team and budget.
